WERRIBEE Centrals Tennis Club's pennant teams are in a good position heading into the final round of the Western Region Tennis Association.
Going into the round, all the club's senior teams are sitting in the top four as are many of their junior
clubmates.
The club's senior mixed pennant side - led by Darren Russell who has won 23 sets for the year - is sitting third and will definitely make the finals.
Section two's most consistent female player, Jaymee Bennett, will led them into the finals, with the mixed three and four teams also looking at finals.
In the pennant side, Centrals section one team
is sitting second on the ladder and has the competition's most consistent player, Patrick Lake, on board.
The section five team needs a win to ensure it keeps its place in the top four.
Six junior teams are also in the top four going into the final round, including the section one side that is sitting in fourth.
Along with its success in the pennant, the club has also implemented a number of programs over the summer to get more people to the club, under
coach Scott Logan who has been there for only two terms.
"In conjunction with tennis Victoria we have implemented two programs at the club," said Logan.
"On Sundays we have a multicultural program that introduces people to the sport and getting them having a hit.
"We also have set up a mothers' program to get more mothers to the club and getting them playing instead of being on the sidelines."
