WERRIBEE Centrals are through to their second straight grand final against Moonee Valley, despite no play in their semi-final against St Albans in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association north A1 division.
On a weekend that saw most if not all cricket matches washed out, the Centrals were one of the teams to benefit.
Coach Phil Crea said: "With the match washed out it means that we are straight through to the grand final.
"It is always disappointing when matches are washed out, especially finals, but there is nothing that we can do.
"But everyone knows come finals times that if poor weather is around, the team that finished higher gets through."
The result now sees a rematch of last year's B1 final which Centrals won by 69 runs.
"They will be wanting revenge and we want to go back-to-back," Crea said.
"It will be a very hard fought game and we have a very good chance of winning."
Going into the grand final, Crea is looking for his whole team to play their part.
"I believe that we have a better side than last year," he said.
"Everyone has a role to play, and if they play that then we will be near our best.
"If we can play near our best then we are a good chance of winning."
The four-day final will be played over the next two weekends.
"I don't think it being played over four days instead of the normal two matches will affect us," Crea said.
"Most of the guys played last year, so they have experienced playing over four days before.
"Now they are just looking forward to getting out there and playing."
