Established in Watton Street in 1980 by Frank and Anna Mollica, it has grown into a thriving business which caters for all your beauty needs.

As well as the regular cuts, colours and blow waves, the family-owned business now provides the full salon experience, with everything from pedicures and manicures to make-up.

"We're a one-stop shop," he said.

"In the past few years, we've employed a beauty therapist so we can now provide the total package.

"We pride ourselves on quality service, reasonable prices and treating our clients as a person, not just a number." Mr Mollica said he was proud of the fact his staff had claimed several apprentice of the year titles over the years.

Hair News will be among the many local traders vying for the retail and service categories at the 2009 Wyndham Business Awards, which recognise excellence in the areas of agribusiness, service, retail, tourism, manufacturing, franchise, as well as new and emerging business.

The awards will be presented at a gala ceremony on June 26.
