A WERRIBEE man has been accused of shooting a man in the knee as he walked along a street. Police said the 30-year-old victim, of Mount Cottrell, required surgery to remove shotgun pellets.
The alleged offence happened about 11.30pm on February 26 as the victim walked with friends along Cassowary Avenue in Werribee.
Members from the Special Operations Group and Werribee detectives arrested a 44-year-old man the following day.
The man was remanded and appeared in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on March 1, charged with conduct endangering life, intentionally and recklessly causing serious injury as well as assault and firearms offences.
There has been no application for bail and no plea has been entered. The man was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on May 24.
The victim has been discharged from hospital.
